Midwinter Ponderings

Whoops. So I’ve written a whole heap of draft blog posts but never finished or published them. My motivation takes a nosedive during winter, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, but it does make me feel rather slack. Such a cliche, I know, but I don’t do well in the cold. It’s like my brain decides to shut down. Plus it’s been raining and miserable which only makes everything seem so much harder. If I could, I would spend all day in bed with a book.

One good thing about winter is Vivid in Sydney. It also happens to coincide with my birthday, so we caught the bus into town and made a night of it. Kids were exhausted by the end.

You might also think that because it’s cold, I’ve been reading more. I haven’t. Nothing has really grabbed me of late enough for me to keep turning the pages. Binge watching shows on Netflix has had greater appeal, so that probably hasn’t helped. I will make a greater effort over the next few weeks to finish those previous posts (book reviews) and get them published.

I envy all of you in the Northern Hemisphere right now. Bring on Summer I say.
