I have my new Nike Lunaracer+ 3 shoes C/O Wiggle (love that site) in the right size. I haven’t yet changed the laces over to my elastic laces but I will do that this afternoon and start the task of breaking them in. I love them because they are super funky. Well they are but that’s not the real reason. I have never had a comfier running/workout shoe than my Nikes. Given that I really do tend to overheat rather easily and the temperate, sometimes rather hot, climate of Sydney leads me to prefer running in cooler weather, I wonder if I prefer them because they are the first shoe that I have owned that has really allowed my feet to breathe. I wore my New Balance shoes the other day after it had been raining and I noticed that they felt heavier and harder underneath my feet when I ran. The Nikes are much lighter and cushier by comparison.
The pain in my toes has finally abated but I haven’t been able to do a lot of running thanks to the very unhelpful children (on school holidays until the end of this week). They are happy to ride their bikes for short distances but I am usually helping one or both of them up the hills as well as dragging the dog. They both now have colds and are saying they are too sick to come with me today. Anyone would think that a walk/ride to the park was torture the way they carry on. I think a bit of bribery might be in order.
