Eclectic Reader Challenge 2016

In it’s fifth year, the aim of The Eclectic Reader Challenge, run by Shelly Rae at Book’d Out, was to push yourself out of your comfort zone by reading up to 12 books during the year from 12 different categories:

  1. A book about books (fiction or nonfiction)
  2.  Serial killer thriller – Hades by Candice Fox
  3.  Paranormal romance
  4.  A novel set on an island
  5. Investigative journalism (non fiction) – Last Woman Hanged by Caroline Overington
  6. Disaster fiction
  7. Steampunk sci fi – Storming by K.M. Weiland
  8. Any book shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize – Dirt Music by Tim Winton
  9. Psychology (non fiction)
  10. Immigrant Experience fiction
  11. YA historical fiction
  12. A debut author in 2016

The challenge ran from January 1st to December 31st 2016. Every time I read a book, I created a new blog post containing the book review. View all my reviews for the 2016 Eclectic Reader Challenge by clicking here.

Unfortunately, due to signing up to too many challenges in 2016, I didn’t complete this challenge, although I am pleased to say I managed over half of the the categories and read a number I wouldn’t normally have picked up. Thanks for the challenge Shelly Rae 🙂
