I managed to meet my 100K in May target (weekly target of 25k). I ran the last 5k needed on the 31st of May just so I could get it done. Looking at the distances some people run in a month on Strava is quite incredible. I can’t imagine being able to run 50km in a day on a regular basis as some people appear to do!
Part of that is that I haven’t been feeling my best over the last week or so because I have had a weird cold with lots of coughing and runny nose that seems to be gone in the day time but flares up at night. So I am tired because my sleep has been disjointed. When I go and run during the day though I feel Ok, just a little tired. So I have managed to do a few runs and walks even though I haven’t been posting. I have been organising birthday parties and attending baby showers etc so haven’t had as much time as I would have liked.
I must that I have been enjoying the trail running and my legs and body seem to be adjusting to the difference in the terrain. The hills on the Mountain Bike trails are pretty hard though.
And because of the unseasonably warm weather we have been having lately, there are a lot of confused flowers out.
I don’t see too many people on the trail runs but when we do Blaze gets a little bit excited. especially if a Mountain Bike overtakes us he seems to think we are in some sort of race and then tries to catch the up. Surprisingly we aren’t too far behind them on the hills. I do need to start leaving him at home for at least one run a week though so I can go on trails I can’t normally with him because they are closed to dogs. Maybe on my longer runs…..
